International Human Rights Day

The UN System’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence activities commenced from 25 November to 10 December, ending on International Human Rights Day. The global theme: "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!"

Personal suffering though Gender-based violence and Human Rights Violations on this day 2020 the establishment, recognition and implementation of Universal Human Rights and a peaceful cohesion of all persons ment so much more than words to global resolution in regards to crimes against humanity.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is an international document adopted by the United Nations General Assembly that enshrines the rights and freedoms of all human beings. It was accepted by the General Assembly as Resolution 217 at its third session on 10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France. Of the 58 members of the United Nations at the time, 48 voted in favour, none against, eight abstained, and two did not vote.

Considered a foundational text in the history of human and civil rights, the Declaration consists of 30 articles detailing an individual's "basic rights and fundamental freedoms" and affirming their universal character as inherent, inalienable, and applicable to all human beings. Adopted as a "common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations", the UDHR commits nations to recognize all humans as being "born free and equal in dignity and rights" regardless of "nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status". The Declaration is considered a "milestone document" for its "universalist language", which makes no reference to a particular culture, political system, or religion. It directly inspired the development of international human rights law, and was the first step in the formulation of the International Bill of Human Rights, which was completed in 1966 and came into force in 1976.

In attendance with many Human Rights enthusiasts I was Engaged, Inspired and Uplifted by the 2020 Human Rights Day Oration.

An Amazing Lady Leading disability rights, activist Rosemary Kayess won the prestigious 2019 Human Rights Medal in recognition of her work in international human rights law for people with disability.

The Story Behind the Brand - BARBWIRE NOOSE expressing the dismissive culture towards the importance of disabled persons, inequality in justice and neglectful suffering of many voiceless disabled people it was a delight, honour and privilege to indulge in Rosemary Kayess knowledge, views and presence.

The Story Behind the Brand - BARBWIRE NOOSE releases 2021.

"Brand Barbwire Noose® began following an Human Rights outcry made by myself against the neglect and sexual abuse I witnessed of clients in government disabled care in South Australia, AUSTRALIA. A fight for better quality of life for Disabled clients in government care leading myself to Trademark register the words Fear Is The Root Of All Weakness® - a slogan which had held a long term place on a yellow curtain blind which was purchased in my teenage years, 2002, whilst still fresh out of home (parental care). I wrote what is now the slogan of the brand after I was sexually abused myself as a teenager by a man that I should have been able to trust. Like the neglected and abused clients should have been able to trust their carer's. Scared to speak out, the slogan represented my internal fight for justice. A slogan representing the struggle I had with the disgusting truth of being sexually violated at 16 years old by mid 30’s police officer and detective Kurt Slaven.  At the time I initially wrote the line ‘Fear Is The Root Of All Weakness®’ as it was an inspirational and relevant thought. Applicable to what I witnessed - the neglect within Disabled caring, like my fear and silence after being raped as a minor, the main reason for years of silence about this neglect by co-workers was also fear. Fears of harassment and dismissal creating loss of income fears, these fears overriding thoughts of morality and humanity for many around me. I did not share the fear of monetary loss, yet after witnessing police corruption as a 16 year old I did fear the backlash of corrupt powers in my teenage years and early 20’s. Not Now. The police sex offender who offended against myself a corrupt power aligned with biker gangs had also mentioned the corruption of government involving the disabled demographic. At 19 years old, beginning work with the government organization Intellectually Disabled Services Council (IDSC), I started to report to management about and then report the abuse and neglect I witnessed. A teenage whistleblower. The story of the development of the brand name ‘Barbwire Noose’ and how these words came about are a much more simple and straightforward explanation than the relevance and complexities behind the words ‘Fear Is The Root Of All Weakness’. A passion for Music as much as Fashion, I plucked the Brand name Barbwire Noose® from the Soundgarden song ‘Pretty Noose’ I used as therapy while on paid leave. The words inspiring the Barbwire Noose® name with the title and line from the song expressive of how I felt at the time - ‘And I Don’t Like What You Got Me Hanging From’ thoughts of a strangulation like silencing from the government in my interpretations in the moment of this music. Feeling I was being held in a corner with what I knew of crimes under government departments and being character assassinated as I was outspoken about it. The counselling was being used as an excuse to treat myself like a victim needing mental assistance after I reported the neglect and criminal conduct I witnessed. Expressing my concerns and feelings regarding the severe neglect and traumas these clients endured. I witnessed red raw sexual regions, with hair trimmed on this client vagina. For months I was concerned about the distress of one particular client after a male worker had his night shift. A distinct smell of sex, condom lubricant and vagina fluids, correlating with the red private region of the client and the males shift. Another female client incapacitated and mute would always hold herself extra tight in the fetal position after this males shift with red breasts and also a red private region. The nightshift was traded with a lesbian woman every fortnight. The smell of condom lubricate and vagina fluid never present when the female worker conducted the night shift. Emotionally distressful actions I was witnessing and endured reporting whilst working at Sharley House. The counselling and paid leave just felt like I was being put in a corner, which was exactly what was happening.  Barbwire Noose® was created at this time in 2005 when I was put on paid leave. The experience of fighting for justice you should not have to fight for and therapy in a song ‘Pretty Noose’ Leading myself to thinking and interpretation of the worst strangulation one could endure - a barbed wire noose. The birth of the brand name 'Barbwire Noose'. The Song by American grunge band Soundgarden and my upset, raging imagination, the birth child for change and motivation to do something more. Contribute to ‘A Better World’. The slogan was too long to be a brand name, Barbwire Noose® instantly resonating as something I liked, was meaningful and was not too long. I secretly trademarked both the Slogan ‘Fear Is The Root Of All Weakness’ with the Brand name ‘Barbwire Noose’ as Intellectual Property at IP Australia 2005 away from prying eyes at my friends parents house. Years later, I started to share my secret brand Barbwire Noose® with the world, printing my first threads in 2008. Barbwire Noose® forging its foundations of Empowerment to make ‘A Better World’." "Working as a Disabilities Officer for the South Australian Government in 2003, I actioned a Human Rights movement whistle blowing neglect and sexual abuse in the government sector. This experience I had with a Government Department preparing myself for

whistleblowing SAPOL. UGLY HEROS part of whistleblowing numerous policing departments, aligned institutions and criminal cover ups from 2014 until print. My life endangered during investigations by compromised police reporting corruption I witnessed,

with TAFE SA Government Investigation Certification I was issued in 2016 I made

recommendations and wrote an Interim Report for the Royal Commission into SAPOL which you can read in Chapter 9" UGLY HEROS - The Price Of Unlawful Enforcement.

"My life as a teenager instantly tarnished by the actions of persons in power, and then by governing change makers in change making positions doing nothing about serious Human Rights concerns of the disabled. A bitter-sweet taste of fate as I grew into the Human Rights Activist I am today. 20 years after Kurt Slaven’s sexual crime, I inadvertently was thrust to a status of the ‘infamously’ famous whistleblower of the era. Targeted by both the Only governments to have served Australia, lucky to survive the lies of a compromised police force and government corruption cover ups at any cost.

Until reporting Police Force corruption it was not common knowledge that 15 years ago I whistle blew the severest mistreatments of mute and noncognitive persons in government disabled facilities. Less commonly known are the reports made regarding breaches of Australian Standard Safety Regulation by construction organisation contracted to the Health Department of South Australia or minor child abuse under the Education Department.

Whistleblower protection laws in South Australia and governance legal protections failing myself during reports against Police, this knowledge became public and as circumstances threatened my wellbeing the truth, the truth was Publicly Heard not only in self defence but for resolution."

"Activities that continued with the Gordon Hamm case 2014 and myself reporting police association until it

was demonstrated with my Human Rights Activism that the Association Laws were not fit for purpose, unconstitutional and a breach of the Privacy Act. Gang allied criminal police

personnel if instantly dismissed would not be able to perpetuate such corruption. Police personnel with gang alliance under these laws should have had them labelled as associates

yet the police force was not using the association laws on their own. Trying to establish an alliance with bikers, bikers which at the top were all aligned with each other not the cops."
