Marcia BNoose (Marcia Anita Hobbs) is an unconventional force in the Australian creative and political landscape. As the founder and creative director of Barbwire Noose® (BN05), she has transformed fashion into a vehicle for social justice, proving that style is most potent when it carries a message of defiance.

From the runways of New York Fashion Week 2021 to global human rights campaigns, Marcia’s work is defined by a single, driving slogan: "Fear Is the Root of All Weakness."

 

The Movement: Barbwire Noose®

Launched as a statement against government negligence and a voice for the vulnerable, Barbwire Noose® is more than a label—it is a movement. Marcia personally designed the iconic trademark in 2005, evolving it into a global brand featuring handcrafted, Australian-made couture and signature prints like the ‘Signature Puss’ Empowerment Collection.

Marcia’s designs have been sold in NYC and books with major book retailers. The heart of the brand remains rooted in civil disobedience and the struggle for change within the disabilities sector and beyond.

Marcia is a prolific author, using literature to expose systemic failures and inspire resilience. Her notable works include:
